Alices in Wonderland
Script by Mila Johansen
Adapted for stage from the Lewis Carroll Classic
41 characters - lots of doubling possible
Not one Alice, not two Alices, but three Alices share this delightfully confusing romp through Wonderland.
After meeting an array of some of the strangest characters imaginable, they meet up at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for an Unbirthday Party where they finally find the meaning of the Jabberwocky Poem. Using three Alices, instead of one, has proven to be much more interesting, providing variety and exuberance.
Lewis Carroll was a master at witty conversations and brought to life many memorable characters: The confused White Knight, the ever-grinning Cheshire Cat, Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum, the Dormouse, the self-important King of Hearts, and many many more.
Another twist in this version is the interaction of the four queens from a deck of cards, each a rare and wonderful character in her own right, each a complete legend in her own mind. Alices in Wonderland is a fresh, new and inviting look at Lewis Carroll’s classic.
“A delight for the entire family... never has Lewis Carroll looked so good. Johansen has given new life to a moldy, sometimes terrifying story.”
