Snow White and The Several Dwarfs

Written by I. M. Grimm

A totally innovative rendition of the
Grimm Brothers’ famous classic
24 speaking roles plus chorus
lots of doubling possible or extras can be added
Approximately 45 Minutes

Snow White’s father is under the spell of her stepmother, Queen Quella. He does not notice his daughter’s enforced slavery to Quella’s every whim. One day when Quella looks into her magic mirror, she sees a lady in white. her Good Side has shown up to haunt her. “Go away, I don’t have a good side!” she shouts. “You do now,” replies Miss Good, “It’s a new ordinance - 12567 . . . All wicked stepmothers shall have a good side!” When Prince Valiant passes by and falls in love with Snow White, even though he thinks she is only a scullery maid, Queen Quella again consults her magic mirror only to find out that she has been replaced as the fairest in the land by her stepdaughter. She flies into a rage and sends Snow White into the forest with two huntsmen who are ordered to slaughter her. They are both too softhearted and tell her to run deep into the forest where she meets the Several Dwarves.
In the end Snow White tells Prince Valiant that she can’t marry him until she goes to college and gets educated. He decides to go with her while the dwarves stick around for the reforestation of the Black Forest.
